– Ford is recalling 139,573 2005 Five Hundred and Mercury Montego sedans and 2005-06 Freestyle crossovers sold or registered in cold-weather states to fix latches that could let in water, freeze and allow the door to open in traffic. 10-15-06

– Ford is recalling 6,164 2006 Escape hybrids with FWD to fix a drivetrain shaft that could fracture. 10-15-06

– Audi has recalled 36,000 2003-04 A8 sedans globally over drivers’ air bags that may not fully inflate. 9-10-06

– Ford has recalled 1.2 million 1994-02 F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 F-Series Super Duty trucks; 2000-02 Excursion SUVs; 1994-96 Econoline and 1996-2002 E-450 vans; and 1998 Explorers and Mercury Mountaineers over a cruise control switch that could overheat and catch fire. 8-13-06

– In a recall, Honda is sending U.S. owners of 1.19 million of its 2006 and 2007 cars, trucks and motorcycles–including the 2006 Accord and Civic and 2007 Fit–corrected information for contacting NHTSA. 8-6-06

– Chrysler Group is recalling 832,000 2002-06 Jeep Liberty SUVs because they can lose steering control. 8-6-06

– Toyota is recalling about 420,000 vehicles globally, including 24,490 Echo and Yaris cars and 8,476 Prius hybrids sold in the U.S., over a faulty engine part. 7-23-06

– Toyota is recalling 367,500 2004-05 Highlander and Lexus RX300 SUVs and 2006 Highlander Hybrid and Lexus RX400h SUVs to fix clips that may cause a console panel to fall onto the accelerator. 7-16-06

– Toyota is recalling about 157,000 2003-05 Tundra pickups to remove a switch that allows passenger-side air bags to be deactivated. 7-16-06

– Nissan is recalling 97,000 2006 Altima and Sentra sedans with 2.5-liter engines after reports of excessive oil consumption and engine fires led the automaker to stop selling the vehicles. 7-2-06

– Chrysler Group is recalling about 111,000 2003-04 Jeep Grand Cherokees after receiving reports of heated seats that caused fires. 6-18-06

– Chrysler Group is recalling 131,500 2000 and 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs with 4-liter engines because the plastic blades in the engine’s cooling fan could separate. 6-18-06

– Honda is recalling more than 78,000 1994-97 Odyssey minivans and CR-V SUVs exported from Japan to replace a faulty part in the starter. 6-18-06

– Toyota is recalling some 170,000 2004-06 Prius sedans in the U.S. because the steering shaft assembly could crack or become loose. 6-4-06

– Volkswagen is recalling 362,000 1999-2002 Jetta and 1998-2002 Beetle sedans with automatic transmission and cruise control because the brake lights could malfunction. 6-4-06

– Volvo is recalling about 108,000 2003-06 XC90 sport-utility vehicles because of problems in the front suspension that could make it difficult to steer the vehicle when parking. 5-21-06

– GM is recalling about 400,000 2004-06 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon and 2006 Isuzu i-280 and i-350 pickups to repair brake lights. 5-7-06

– Ford is recalling nearly 150,000 2005 Escape and Mercury Mariner SUVs without side-curtain air bags or moonroofs to reduce the stiffness of the foam along the driver’s side roofline near the front pillar. 4-23-06

– Ford is recalling 19,140 2003-04 Mustang Cobra sports cars over complaints that the accelerator pedal could become caught in the carpeting. 4-16-06

– Lexus will recall about 29,000 2006 GS and IS sedans in North America to correct faulty parts in the seat-belt tensioner. 4-16-06

– Nissan is recalling about 44,000 2005-06 Frontier King Cab pickups because a severe side crash could lead the fuel cap to unscrew and fuel to spill. 4-9-06

– Chrysler Group is recalling 268,800 vehicles 2005-06 Dodge Durango, Caravan and Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country vehicles to replace a faulty front windshield wiper motor. 3-26-06

– GM is recalling about 900,000 1999-2000 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups worldwide to fix problems with tailgate cables that can corrode and break when loads are placed on them. 3-19-06

– Ford has recalled more than 200,000 2006 F-150 and Lincoln Mark LT pickups because of a software error in the instrument panel that could prevent the ABS warning light from illuminating. 3-12-06

– Volkswagen is recalling about 74,000 2003 Passat and Audi A4 and A6 sedans and wagons because potentially faulty fuel pumps. 2-5-06

– Jaguar is recalling 2,675 2006 XJ sedans because the moonroof may shatter when the door is closed or the vehicle is moving. 2-5-06

– Porsche is recalling 18,627 911 Carrera S and 4S cars to replace the exhaust pipe. 1-15-06

– GM is recalling 553,063 1999-2002 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban; and GMC Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles to fix ABS that may activate without warning. 1-1-06

– GM is recalling about 425,000 2003-06 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans to repair seat-belt buckles that will not latch or unlatch. 12-25-05
