The Bears have rarely been pushed in 2006, with five games decided by 25 or more points. Sunday’s 41-10 thrashing of the San Francisco 49ers was simply the latest in a series of breeze-throughs.
But after facing the 1-6 Miami Dolphins on Sunday, they begin a stretch against five teams with records of .500 or better.
Also, three of Miami’s last four games were decided by three points.
“Sure, the road’s going to get tougher,” coach Lovie Smith said.
“We would like for games to happen as they have a few times this year, but it’s not going to be like that most of the year. We have a big stretch of our season coming up, and we’re going into every game expecting a close game.”
