THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS OFFERED IN THE UNITED STATES, EXCLUDING NEW YORK, FLORIDA, AND RHODE ISLAND AND IS ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT CHICAGO TRIBUNE SUBSCRIBERS WHOSE SUBSCRIPTION COMMENCED PRIOR TO 11/09/2006 AND WHO ARE SUCCESSFULLY ENROLLED IN THE SUBSCRIBER ADVANTAGE PROGRAM AT THE TIME OF ENTRY; OR, SUBSCRIBER ADVANTAGE ONLINE-ONLY MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING WHOSE MEMBERSHIP COMMENCED PRIOR TO 11/09/06. SUBSCRIBER ADVANTAGE SNAPSHOT HOTSHOT PHOTO CONTEST

Sponsored by Chicago Tribune Company (herein “Sponsor”)

1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL AND MUNICIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. HOW TO ENTER THE CONTEST: To enter the Subscriber Advantage Snapshot Hotshot Photo Contest, you must be a current Chicago Tribune Subscriber whose subscription commenced prior to 11/09/2005 AND are successfully enrolled in the Subscriber Advantage program at the time of entry, or, be a Subscriber Advantage Online-Only member in good standing who was enrolled before 11/09/2006. Entry into the Subscriber Advantage Snapshot Hotshot Photo Contest (“Contest”) begins at 12:01 a.m. Central Time (“CT”) on11/09/2006 and ends at 11:59 p.m. CT on 12/10/2006. You may enter the Contest by going to bancodeprofissionais.com/members and clicking through to the Contest entry page. Once at the Contest entry page, follow the on-screen instructions for entering the Contest and attach a color or black and white photograph (digital or scanned) as a JPEG or GIF file (400k or less) along with a supporting caption describing the inspiration for the photograph of no more than seventy five (75) words (“Entry”), in English, to the photo category you wish to enter. There are eight (8) photo categories: Menu Mavens (Dining), Bargain Hunters (Shopping), Globe Trekkers (Travel), Puzzle Pundits (Puzzles/Games), Game Day Groupies (Sports), News Hounds (News), Dramatic Fanatics (Theater/Film) and Treble Makers (Music). Entries must be completed in one session, as entrants will not have the ability to revisit the web site at a later time to complete entries. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. CT on 12/10/2006. Photographs cannot contain any intellectual property of third parties and must be suitable for publication/broadcast at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Any photograph containing obscene, indecent, violent, sexually explicit, discriminatory or other morally or legally objectionable depictions or material, in the opinion of the judges or the Sponsor, will result in disqualification of the corresponding entry and of the entrant who submitted it. Entries: must be the sole and original creation of the entrants who submit them; must not have been published previously; must not have won previous awards; and must not infringe upon any other person’s rights. The right to submit or use an entry must not be restricted in any way. Modifying, enhancing or altering a third party’s preexisting work does not qualify as entrant’s original creation. Cropped photos are eligible in all categories. We do not accept digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos. Minor adjustments, including spotting, dodging and burning, contrast and slight color adjustment or the digital equivalents, are acceptable for all eight categories. If our judges see that a photographer has obviously altered his or her photo, they reserve the right to disqualify it.


An entrant must hold all rights to a photograph. For a photo in which any person or persons other than the entrant is/are recognizable, the entrant must secure a model release from the subject(s) or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian and provide it to Sponsor upon request. A sample release is available at bancodeprofissionais.com/modelrelease. Entrants must have a valid e-mail address to participate in the Contest. BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST AND SUBMITTING AN ENTRY, ENTRANTS (OR THEIR PARENTS OR LEGAL GUARDIANS IF ENTRANTS ARE EIGHTEEN (18) BUT DEEMED MINORS IN THEIR STATES OF RESIDENCE) (i) WARRANT AND REPRESENT THAT THEIR PHOTOGRAPHS FULLY COMPLY WITH THESE RULES; (ii) AGREE TO ASSIGN THEIR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS IN THEIR PHOTOGRAPHS TO SPONSOR; AND (iii) ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT NEITHER SPONSOR, ITS PARENT, AFFILIATED OR SUBSIDIARY COMPANIES, ADVERTISING, PROMOTION AND JUDGING AGENCIES, NOR THEIR RESPECTIVE SHAREHOLDERS, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES OR AGENCIES WILL HAVE ANY LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO BODILY INJURY OR DEATH, CAUSED BY OR IN CONNECTION WITH PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST AND OR ANY USE OF THE ENTRY SUBMITTED. Proof of submission does not constitute proof of receipt. Limit one (1) photograph per category per person/household. Each photograph must be different and submitted separately. Entries must be submitted by an individual, eligible entrant only; no group entries allowed. All Entries become the property of Sponsor and none will be returned.


2. ELIGIBILITY: This Contest is open to legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia, excluding New York, Florida, and Rhode Island who were 18 years of age or older as of date of entry and who are current Chicago Tribune subscribers whose subscription commenced prior to 11/09/2006 and who are successfully enrolled in the Subscriber Advantage program at the time of entry, or, who are Subscriber Advantage Online-Only members in good standing whose membership commenced prior to 11/09/2006. Employees of Sponsor, its parent company, and their subsidiaries, distributors, sales representatives, retailers, advertising, promotion, and judging agencies, and all other service agencies involved with the design, execution or fulfillment of this Contest, and members of the immediate families (defined for these purposes as parents, children, siblings, and spouse) or households (whether related or not) of any of the above are NOT eligible to participate.


3. JUDGING: Entries will be judged in two phases: Phase 1: In the first phase of judging, on or about 12/11/2006, a panel of qualified judges will choose a maximum of three (3) “Finalists” for each of the eight (8) categories described in Rule #1 from among all eligible entries received provided there are a sufficient number of entries. All such entries will be judged by a panel of qualified judges chosen by the Sponsor. Phase 1 judging will be based on: creativity/uniqueness of photograph (25%); appropriateness to category (25%); writing style of the caption (25%) and visual appeal/quality of the photograph (25%). Phase 2: The three (3) Finalists for each of the eight (8) categories will be posted on bancodeprofissionais.com/hotshots where eligible visitors may vote (“Voting”) for their favorite photo for each of the eight (8) categories. Online voting begins at 12:01AM CT on 12/15/2006 and ends at 11:59PM CT on 12/31/2006 (“Voting Period”). Limit one (1) vote per person/e-mail address/household per category per day during the entire Voting Period.


The Finalist who receives the highest number of valid, non-suspect votes from among all Finalists across all eight (8) categories during the Voting Period will be deemed the Grand Prize winner, subject to verification. The Category Finalist receiving the highest number of valid, non-suspect votes for each category will be deemed Category Prize winners. Each category Finalist will receive a Category Finalist Prize. Potential winners (or their parent or legal guardian if a potential winner is an eligible minor) will be notified by overnight mail and will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release (where permitted) within ten (10) days of receipt of notification or the potential winner will be disqualified and the prize will be forfeited, and the Finalist receiving the next highest number of votes, either overall, or in a particular category will be deemed the potential Prize winner of the relevant prize, subject to verification. The decisions of the judges will be final and binding on all matters relating to this Contest. In the event of a tie in the judging to determine a finalist, the entries involved in the tie will be re-judged by an additional qualified judge who will serve as a tiebreaker and who will evaluate entries according to the criteria listed above for Phase 1 of the judging process. In the event of a tie in the Voting, the entries involved in the tie will be subject to a re-Voting period for a time set forth by Sponsor according to the criteria listed above.


4. PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded consisting of a $5,000 Visa Gift Card. Approximate retail value (“ARV”): $5,000.00. Eight (8) Category Prizes will be awarded consisting of a $500 Visa Gift Card. ARV: $500.00 each. Twenty-four (24) Category Finalist Prizes will be awarded consisting of a $50 Visa Gift Card. ARV: $50.00 each. Total ARV of all prizes: $10,200.00. Visa is not a sponsor of the Subscriber Advantage Snapshot Hotshot Photo Contest. The Visa Rewards Cards are issued by JP Morgan Bank, N.A. pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. and managed by Ecount, a member service provider of JP Morgan Chase Bank. Use of the prizes are subject to the policies and restrictions of the issuer.

Prizes are not transferable. No substitutions or cash redemptions. If a prize winner is deemed a eligible minor in his/her state of residence, the prize will be awarded on behalf of the eligible minor to his/her parent or legal guardian, who must comply with the prize claim requirements set forth herein.


5. GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS: If a prize notification or prize is returned as undeliverable, potential winner will be disqualified and prize will be forfeited. By entering this Contest, all entrants (or their parents or legal guardians, if applicable) agree that neither Sponsor, its parent, affiliated and subsidiary companies, advertising, promotion and judging agencies, nor any of their respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees or agencies will have any liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or in connection with any prize or resulting from participation in this Contest or from acceptance, possession or use of the prize (if awarded to them) or the Entry, or participation in any prize-related activity, or use by Sponsor of the entry in any manner. Submission of an entry will constitute and signify the entrant’s agreement and consent (or that of his/her parent or legal guardian if entrant is an eligible minor) to the Sponsor’s and/or the Sponsor’s assignees’ use of the Entry, entrant’s name, photographs, likeness and/or prize information for promotional or trade purposes in commerce and in all media worldwide now known or hereinafter developed without limitation or notice and without further compensation. Submission of an Entry grants Sponsor and its agents the right to publish, use, adapt, edit and/or modify the Entry in any way, in commerce and in any and all media worldwide now known or hereinafter developed, without limitation and without further consideration to the entrant. Submission of any entry further constitutes the entrant’s (with his/her parent’s or guardian’s consent, if applicable) assignment and transfer to the Sponsor of any and all rights, title, and interest in and to the entry, including, without limitation, all intellectual property rights.


If for any reason this Contest is not capable of running as planned by any cause which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend this Contest and determine winner, based on the criteria stated herein, from eligible entries received prior to the time such action was taken, or as otherwise deemed fair and equitable by Sponsor. Winner is solely responsible for any local, state, or federal income taxes on prize. By entering, entrants (or their parents or legal guardians, if applicable) agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrant’s rights, and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with this Contest, will be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Illinois, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. Sponsor reserves the right to take such action as it deems necessary to enforce these Official Rules and ensure the fair operation of this Contest, including without limitation barring entrants who do not comply with these Official Rules. By entering, entrants (or their parents or legal guardians, if applicable) consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the federal, state, and local courts located in Cook County, Illinois.


6. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of an entrant, the corresponding entry will be deemed to be made by the authorized account holder of the e mail address submitted at the time of entry. “Authorized account holder” is deemed to be the natural person who is assigned to an e mail address by an Internet access provider, service provider or other online organization that is responsible for assigning e mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e mail address. Neither Sponsor nor its agencies are responsible for: lost, late, garbled, misdirected or incomplete entries; lost, interrupted, unavailable or inaccessible satellite, network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), Website or other connections; traffic congestion; miscommunications, failed computer, network, telephone, satellite, or cable hardware, software or lines; technical failure; jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions; computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties; other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic or network, in the transmission, receipt or processing of entries/votes; or the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry, voting or other information or the failure to capture, or loss of, any such information. Neither Sponsor nor its agencies are responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Website users, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Contest and assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or tampering with or hacking of Website. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds may be tampering with or attempting to tamper with the entry or voting process or operation of this Contest or Website, or may be acting in violation of the terms of the Website, or may be acting in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to threaten, abuse, or harass any other person. Any attempt to deliberately damage any Website or undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest may be unlawful and subject to legal action by Sponsor or its agents. Any individual or group engaged in fraudulent voting practices may be subject to legal action by Sponsor or its agents and such votes will be disqualified. If a Finalist is determined to be in collusion with such fraudulent voters, Finalist will be disqualified.


7. WINNERS’ NAMES: For the names of the winners, send a self-addressed stamped envelope after 01/10/2007 to: Subscriber Advantage Contest Winners, 777 West Chicago Avenue, Suite FC 300, Chicago, IL 60610. Requests must be received by 01/31/2007. Winners’ names will be sent after winners have been verified.
