In “Boys in one class, girls in the other” (Page 1, Nov. 5), it is reported that, according to one study, “women’s brains are more wired for language and comprehension, which can explain why girls are more verbal.” If Lawrence Summers had to resign as president of Harvard University for merely suggesting that innate differences might perhaps account for the reduced number of women in science and engineering, I guess that whoever reached those conclusions about girls being more naturally wired to excel in language and comprehension should be sent to jail.
