Ever since the State Street Marshall Fields officially became Macy’s, you’ve been wondering: What will become of the Walnut Room, the Great Tree and the holiday windows? Wonder no more. Last weekend, Macy’s launched its Mary Poppins-themed window display and lit its ginormous tree, which includes a 400-pound topper designed by Vera Wang. Better yet, it added new eats at the in-store eateries. Dig into a three-course menu ($22.95) at the Walnut Room’s new Tree Top Cafe, which overlooks the tree. Long lines at the Walnut? Head to Macy’s Seven on State food court starting Monday to check out the new Noodles by Takashi Yagihashi. The noodle house-inspired menu, courtesy of acclaimed chef Yagihashi, features choices such as a BBQ pork bun ($3.95), shrimp spring rolls ($6.95) and vegetable fried rice ($5.95). 111 N. State St. seventh floor. 312-781-4483.
