Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I want to thank the Tribune for the Nov. 12 Perspective section special report on my new hero, Rahm Emanuel. Actually I’ve admired him for quite some time, but I had no idea of his long-time involvement behind the scenes.

A couple of years ago, as a few friends and I approached a corner of Broadway to get a good spot for the Gay Pride Parade, Emanuel was there shaking hands but had just turned to walk away. I shouted, which came out more like a bark, “Way to go Rahm.”

When he turned, he seemed a bit startled, but when he saw me there, giving him the thumbs up, he waved then returned my thumbs up. My friends were quite impressed.
