All USC has to do to play for the national title is beat UCLA on Saturday. Regardless, the Trojans know they are headed for a BCS bowl whatever the outcome; they have clinched the Pac-10 title and a loss to UCLA sends them to the Rose Bowl.

But there are three BCS play-in games next Saturday, with title games in the Atlantic Coast, Big 12 and Southeastern conferences. Here’s a look at the games:

ACC

Georgia Tech has perhaps the nation’s best wide receiver in Calvin Johnson. Unfortunately for Johnson, his quarterback is Reggie Ball, a four-year starter whose career completion percentage is less than 50 percent. Wake Forest is perhaps the nation’s biggest surprise. The winner goes to the Orange Bowl.

Big 12

Old rivals Nebraska and Oklahoma meet for the first time in the league title game. Nebraska’s offense has led the way. OU’s defense has been superb. The winner goes to the Fiesta Bowl, almost certainly to play Boise State.

SEC

Florida certainly hasn’t impressed anyone with its offense, but the Gators are 10th nationally in total defense. It will be tested against Arkansas’ No.4 rush offense.
