An employee was shot and wounded late Wednesday in an attempted robbery at La Pasadita restaurant, 1141 N. Ashland Ave. A masked gunman walked into the restaurant and told the employee to hand over all the money in the register, police said. When the victim refused, the robber fired one shot before running out of the business without any money. The employee was in serious but stable condition Thursday.
