Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

On that snowy morning, Dec. 1, we were headed east on Higgins Road near Wolf Road when our car slid on a patch of ice, spun and hit a snowbank. We found ourselves precariously facing north. A Commonwealth Edison truck driver pulled in front of us, warning lights on, and dug us out, got in the car and drove us out to a safe lane.

We couldn’t see an ID number on the truck, nor did he give his name so we could thank him. I hope he sees this note to know we are forever grateful for his kindness.
