I LOVE …
… when on rainy or snowy days, bus drivers pull up a little before or a little beyond a designated bus stop so that passengers can get on or off at a dry and safe place.
–Lenore Glanz, Chicago
… shopping for my daughter at The Learning Tree (4419 N. Ravenswood Ave.). They have all of the unique games and toys you can’t find anywhere else.
–Jocelyn Scotty, West Dundee
… getting the 8-ounce “short” coffee at Starbucks because I can almost never finish the “tall.”
–Monica Eng, reporter
… using the Highwood post office (130 Highwood Ave.) … friendly, efficient and a bit of good humor thrown in.
–Joan Groner, Highland Park
I HATE …
… when city snowplows shove the snow back onto sidewalks where there is a bus shelter, thereby causing passengers to get on or off buses by climbing into huge slippery or slushy banks of snow.
–Lenore Glanz, Chicago
… when people do not clean off the tops of their cars when it snows. I’ve seen several near-collisions as people swerved to avoid large hunks of snow and snow-turned-ice that have flown off the tops of cars and onto the cars behind them.
–Stacey Kirsch, Wood Dale
… that Starbucks doesn’t list the short coffee on the menu board.
–Monica Eng, reporter
… servers who pick up and refold the napkin you put on your seat, as etiquette requires, when you leave the table temporarily.
–Steve Anderson, Chicago
