Olney East Richland senior Brittany Johnson became the all-time leading scorer in Illinois girls basketball history Thursday as she scored 31 in the Tigers’ 52-43 victory over Camp Point Central/Augusta Southeastern in quarterfinal action of the 2006 State Farm Holiday Classic.
“When everyone started cheering, I guess I knew I broke it,” Johnson said. “My teammates really helped me.”
Johnson, who now has 3,418 career points, surpassed Williamsville’s Angie Sapp-Hartman as Illinois’ all-time career scoring leader.
