Jermareo Davidson hit two sky hooks during a key second-half run in No. 8 Alabama’s 70-55 victory over Oklahoma on Monday.

One of the biggest fans of Davidson’s new shot is coach Mark Gottfried: “I love it. Nobody really shoots the hook shot anymore.”

Davidson scored 17 points and Richard Hendrix had 14 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double in the last six games as Alabama (13-1) won its 15th straight at home and sixth in a row overall.

– Georgia Tech center Zach Peacock fractured his right cheekbone in Saturday’s game with St. Francis and will miss Wednesday’s game with Winston-Salem State, coach Paul Hewitt said.

– Miami’s Greg Olsen, projected to be the top tight end in the NFL draft, plans to skip his senior season and turn pro, his new agent Drew Rosenhaus said. . . . Georgia defensive end Charles Johnson and running back Danny Ware will also forgo their senior seasons and enter the draft.
