Chicago business owners on Tuesday began to obtain city licenses good for two years under a new program designed to increase convenience for applicants. Licenses used to be renewed once a year during February, May, August or November, depending on the ZIP code of the business. Now, renewals will take place for two-year periods and will be issued every month, based on ZIP code. The median cost is $250.
