William R. Schieve, 92, of Sun City, AZ, passed away on Jan. 2, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. William was born in Chicago, IL, the son of Henry and Pauline Schieve. William retired from Wire Sales Co. in Chicago as a plant engineer. He served during World War II reaching the rank of Captain in the Intelligence Department and was an original member of American Lutheran Church of Sun City. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy; son, Dean (Mary) Schieve of Woodridge; daughter Lynn (Daniel) Homerding of Oswego; grandchildren Melissa and Brian Homerding, Ross and Craig Schieve; sisters Elsie Schultz, Martha Reiter, Eleanor (Harry) Goering, Irene (Bert) Schlemmer; brother, Adolph (Betty) Schieve; many nieces nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Pauline Schieve; brother, Richard Schieve; sister, Frieda Antonides and Helen Schieve; brother-in-laws Gene Schultz, Ed Antonides and Raymond Reiter. He will be missed by all who knew him. Family will be receiving guests from Noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave., Montgomery, IL. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice, 400 N. Highland Ave., Aurora, IL 60506.
