James J. Prochaska, 80, of Wadsworth, IL, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born on Aug. 17, 1926 in Chicago and married Evelyn Zbylut in 1952 in Chicago. James retired as a printer in 1990 from Continental Bank in Chicago and was a Veteran of WWII having served with the U.S. Army in Italy. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Wadsworth and belonged to The Shamrock’s and AARP. His hobbies included electric trains, woodcarving, stained glass and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; two daughters, Kathy (Craig) Kressner of Lake Villa, IL and Barbara Prochaska of Round Lake Beach, IL; and two grandchildren, Erik and Erin Kressner. He was preceded in death by one son, Richard (1988); one brother, Robert; and one sister, Rosemarie Sexton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007 at St. Patrick’s Church, 15000 Wadsworth Rd., Wadsworth, IL. Interment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles. Friends may call at the church from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday only. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were under the care of The Salata Gurnee Funeral Home,4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee.
