Harold “Hal” E. Boles, July 24, 1921 – Jan 5, 2007 Vienna, ME., formerly of Waterville, ME. Hal passed away at his daughter’s home in Vienna, Maine, Jan. 5, 2007, after a year long battle with cancer. He was born July 24, 1921 and raised in Amity, ME the son of Percy and Marion Boles, nee Sparrow. He served in the Army Air Corps during WW II in the Pacific. He married Bernadette Tallon in 1945 and had four children. They later divorced. He lived in the Chicago area for many years and was a 25 year loyal employee of The Independent Order of Foresters. Previously for 10 to 15 years he worked for Lever Brothers. Hal loved the outdoors and greatly enjoyed the forest preserves in the Wheaton area. After surviving a heart attack in 1993 he retired to his beloved Maine and settled in Waterville. His later years were spent working on his land, traveling to see his children and grandchildren and keeping in touch with old and new friends through his computer. He is survived by sisters, Madeline Reed of N.H. and Patricia Campbell of Houlton; daughters Lezlie Wade of Salt Lake City, UT. and Ellen (Carlos) Santana of Vienna, ME., Judith Sullivan of Salt Lake City, UT.; son James (Shawna) Boles of Orem, UT; many loving nieces and nephews and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy Boles and Marion Sparrow Boles and two sisters, Marjorie Grant and Geraldine Maffeo. We love you and we’ll miss you Grandpa. The funeral will take place at the Faith Christian Fellowship in the New Sharon Congregational Church vestry on Friday, Jan. 12, at 3 p.m. A viewing will begin at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
