Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

As a new Chicago resident, I have learned much about driving and parking in this city that differs greatly from other cities and I would like to pass it along to other newcomers:

– CTA buses and cabs always have the right of way.

– Turn signals are never used.

– The person merging has the right of way over the person already on the road.

– At four-way stops, the left-turn person has the right of way over the person going straight.

– It’s acceptable for restaurants to illegally confiscate public parking spaces in front of their businesses for valet service.

– It’s OK for people to hit and dent your car when they parallel park.

– Police can park whenever and wherever they want and should never be confronted about it.

This information should be of great help to new Chicago residents.
