Every year at this time we hear about new laws that took effect Jan. 1.
In the past few years, the state has decreed that drivers must turn on their headlights when the windshield wipers are on, and that the left lane is for passing only and drivers should otherwise stay to the right.
Both of these are blatantly and consistently ignored.
Why pass new laws if you’re not going to enforce them?
