The perhaps overpublicized Terrell Owens has fired publicist Kim Etheredge, perhaps best remembered for chomping on gum, looking disheveled and lashing out at authorities during a news conference following Owens’ September hospitalization for an accidental overdose. “I am just upset that I just feel they take advantage of Terrell,” she said that day. Scoffing at the suicide report, she added, “Terrell has 25 million reasons why he should be alive,” a reference to the three-year, $25 million contract he signed with the Cowboys in March 2006. Etheredge, who made the 911 call that lasted for just 41 seconds, never said anything about a suicide attempt and never mentioned Owens’ name.
