The village has extended its agreement with Joe DePaulo, the former owner of Clow International Airport, to continue running airport operations at least through the spring.

When the village bought the airstrip three years ago, officials had no expertise in running the airport, Mayor Roger Claar said.

“We didn’t expect the airport to come up for sale when it did but we didn’t want it to be torn up for development either,” Claar said. With limited staff and airport expertise, village officials agreed to have DePaulo stay on as manager for three years.

After May 31, the agreement will run month-to-month as the village investigates hiring either another management firm or a manager to handle airport operations, Claar said.
