Mary “Marcella” Logan, nee Carlin,with deepest sense of loss, her devoted family announces her passing, Jan. 6, 2007, in San Jose, CA. Dearly beloved wife for 51 years to the late William T. Logan; cherished mother of Patrick (Peggy), Peg (Steve), Joan (Barry), the late Michael (Karen), John (Michele), Mary (Randy), Dan (Sue) and the late William II; loving “Momo” to her 14 grandchildren, Billy (Aimee), Patrick, Laura (Jared), Sarah, Ben, Diane, Clay, Kelly, Kevin, Austin, Alyssa, Conor, Georgia, Otis and great-grandsons James, Thomas and Michael. Born in Chicago, IL. Sept. 28, 1924, adored daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret Carlin, nee Hannigan; revered sister to Jack (Kay) Carlin and the late Frank (Marie) Carlin. Graduate of St. Xavier University and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Chicago, IL. A retired RN Administrator for Laguna Honda Hospital, City and County of SF, she also enjoyed her years caring for the Jesuits at the Santa Clara University Infirmary. Marcella will be remembered for her determined spirit and boundless energy – traits shared by all the Hanning women. While continuing to pursue her nursing career, she lavished time and attention to their family and friends. Kindness, laughter and conversation greeted anyone who entered her home. The great love she has for her husband, Bill, benefits all her progeny and is her lasting legacy. Friends may visit Thursday, Jan. 11 after 4 p.m. and are invited to attend a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary,500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City. A funeral Mass will be Celebrated, Friday, 10 a.m. at St. Emydius Church, Ashton and DeMontfort Sts, S.F. Interment Golden Gate National Cemetery.
