Jack Morris Platner, 87, of Schererville, IN, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia, nee Cohen, Platner; two daughters, Sandra (Morton) Volk and Harlene Goodman; grandchildren, Michael (Karen) Volk, Scott (Brenda) Volk, Joel Goodman and Carye (Hugh) Vogt; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, 1 p.m., at Waldheim Cemetery, 1400 S. Des Plaines, Forest Park, IL. Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served with the U.S. Navy in WWII and owned Jack’s Fish Market in the South Shore area of Chicago for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
