Frederick Phillip Dose, Sr., born Feb. 13, 1919, passed away at his Glenview residence on Sunday, January 7. Mr. Dose was the founder and President of Frederick P. Dose and Company, Inc., a Chicago-based insurance brokerage firm. A native of Rogers Park, he attended Sullivan High School. Following training at Officer Candidate School, Mr. Dose served as Captain in Intelligence with the 15th U.S. Air Force in Italy, and also at Dutch Harbor in the Aleutian Islands. In the early 1960s, Mr. Dose was an active participant in the effort to recruit qualified candidates for the Glenview Village Board at a time of considerable change and growth in the community. His other service activities included parent initiatives in the local school system and Glenview’s Meals-On-Wheels program. In later years, Mr. Dose served as a member of the Board of Directors of the historic Germania Club of Chicago. He is preceded in death by his father Henry, mother Pauline, and sisters Carola and Gertrude. Survivors include his son Frederick P. Dose Jr. and daughter-in-law Dee K. Dose of Highland Park, and William S. Dose of Glenview. Interment private.
