How embarrassing new House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s actions were for both her and our country in taking on this very important role. Can you imagine former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher flexing her muscles as Pelosi did, when she was elected? I don’t remember recently elected Chancellor Angela Merkel prognosticating how she was “the most powerful woman” in Germany when she was elected. Both left their actions to reflect the importance and dignity of their offices. Let’s hope these are not examples of how Speaker Pelosi will help to lead our nation over the next two years.
