Jerome Shalon, died on Dec. 28, 2006. Born in Chicago on Aug. 16, 1929, to Paul and Ida Shalon, Jerry was the youngest of three children. Jerry met Judith Daskal at the U of IL. He graduated from Law school there, married Judy and served in the US Army. He managed real estate ventures and settled his family in Glencoe IL. When their children were grown and moved west, Judy and Jerry then enjoyed 17 years in southern California. They retired to Scottsdale, AZ, in 2003 to be near their grandchildren and spent 53 wonderful years together until Judy’s passing on Oct. 27 2006. Eight days later Jerry was diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer. After only 2 months, he is reunited with his beloved Judy. Jerry was an intelligent, kind and considerate man with a fantastic sense of humor. He enjoyed good times with family and friends and loved rooting for his Chicago Bears and Cubs. Jerry is survived by his son, Steven; daughter, Ivy (Robert) Nichols; and grandchildren, Marguerite Maggie, Naomi and Paul. Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E Flower St, Phoenix AZ, 85014.
