– Can you tell me what shows Brad Garrett’s wife on ” ‘Til Death” starred in previously? –Joyce Stoudt, Sinking Spring, Pa.
While she’s done considerable guest-star work — notably on “Desperate Housewives” recently — Joely Fisher had full star status on the Lifetime series “Wild Card.” Prior to that, the daughter of singer-actors Eddie Fisher and Connie Stevens was a regular on “Baby Bob,” “Normal, Ohio” and Ellen DeGeneres’ mid-1990s sitcom, “Ellen.”
– What has Sherry Stringfield been up to since she left “ER”? –Wayne Orr, Winfield, Kan.
Last year, the actress made an evidently unsold CBS series pilot titled “Company Town,” about government agents in the nation’s capital. Had the show been greenlit, it would have included many other familiar television faces such as fellow “ER” alumna Michael Michele, Gary Cole (“The West Wing”), Blair Underwood (“L.A. Law”), Catherine Bell (“JAG”) and Esai Morales (“NYPD Blue”). Stringfield’s latest completed project is a revenge melodrama titled “Forfeit,” also featuring Gregory Itzin (“24”) and Wayne Knight (alias Newman on “Seinfeld”).
– I’m trying to find information on a short-lived series from the ’90s called “Cop Rock.” Steven Bochco was the producer. I’d like to know if it is available for purchase on DVD. –Jackie Jones, Milwaukee
The unique merging of musical and police drama, which everyone knew was a huge gamble going into and during its brief run on ABC in the fall of 1990, was not available on disc at this writing. Among the cast members were some actors who would go on to other Bochco efforts, including James McDaniel (“NYPD Blue”) and Peter Onorati (“Civil Wars”) – as well as “Hill Street Blues” alumna Barbara Bosson, who was then Bochco’s wife.
– I was watching Turner Classic Movies and saw a young woman I thought I recognized. Her name was Constance Towers. Is she the same woman who now plays Helena Cassadine on “General Hospital”? –Heather Welch, San Antonio
Without even knowing which movie it was, we strongly suspect the answer is “yes.” Towers has been acting since the mid-1950s.
