Herbert Weil, age 81, beloved husband of the late Johanna “Jean” for 47 years; loving father of Carla Gordon, Harlan (Shauna) and Rick (Gail) Weil; cherished grandfather of Lani, Jaret and Jenna Gordon, Hannah, Tori and Adam Weil; respected and loyal friend of many. A Holocaust survivor and member of the French resistance. Herbert was a generous supporter of many philanthropic causes. A lifelong member of Temple Judea Mizpah. He loved life, dancing, bridge, the fine arts and this country. Service Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the Weinstein Funeral Homes North Shore Chapel, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette.
