Berendt, age 78, suddenly, beloved husband of the late Shirley E., nee Freeman; loving father of Randy (Darlene), Darrell (Linda), Cheryl (Russ) Christensen, Theresa (Matthew) Jester and Michael Berendt; cherished grandfather of Jeff (Shelley), Jacki (T.J.), Katie (Cory), Amy (Jake), Jenny (Luke) and Joey; proud great-grandfather of Hannah, Abby, Natalie, Chase and Chloe; dear brother of Joan Broholm of Hammond, IN; loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Mr. Berendt served the food industry in the Chicago Marketing area for more than 50 years to include being president of both E. Skinner and Berendt & Associates food brokerage companies.
