John Robert Grant, 74, of Lake Forest and formerly of Beverly, passed away peacefully at his home Jan. 14, 2007, after a brief battle with acute leukemia. Beloved husband of the late Diane Donovan Grant (2004); loving father of Deirdre (Bill) Gehant, Marilynn (Matt) Bruns, Marijane (Tim) Brangle, Jennifer (Kevin) Prendeville, John, Diane (Brian Nevin) and the late Patrice Bellew; devoted grandfather of 12; dear uncle and friend to many. Former Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Lake Forest Library or American Legion Post 264, Lake Forest, IL, in his honor. Funeral Mass 12 Noon, Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Church of St. Mary, Lake Forest. Interment will be private. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 19, at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 E.
