– An estimated 36.9 million people watched the “American Idol” two-hour special on Fox on Wednesday night, down only slightly from the 37.3 million who tuned in for Tuesday’s two-hour season premiere, according to Nielsen Media Research. They were the two biggest nights of prime-time entertainment on Fox since it came onto the air nearly two decades ago.

– “CSI: Miami” star David Caruso and wife Margaret have finalized their divorce after 2 1/2 years, People magazine reports. The couple married in May 1996 and separated in June 2004, Zap2it.com reports.

– James Brown’s will, filed Thursday in Aiken County, S.C., names six kids but does not name the 5-year-old child of Brown and partner Tomi Rae Hynie. The document, which doesn’t include an estimate of Brown’s estate, begins, “I, James Brown, also known as `The Godfather of Soul’ … have six living children.”

– Usher has been found guilty of speeding in connection with a July 4 incident in which he was pulled over on Georgia’s Interstate Highway 75 for driving 103 m.p.h. The R&B singer appeared in Bartow County court this week and was fined $425 and told to perform 20 hours of community service.
