After cresting at about $500, the price of the least expensive tickets to Sunday’s NFC Championship game dropped to about $350 apiece, with high-end tickets going for about $1,200, ticket brokers said Friday.

The “get-in” price could drop still more.

“This thing will be a $250 get-in when it’s all said and done,” said Steve Buzil, owner of Sit Close Tickets. “Unless New Orleans people are planning a surprise invasion.”

Buzz and excitement drove prices higher early in the week, ticket brokers said, but by Wednesday, more season ticket holders were deciding to unload their seats, hoping there was money to be made.

Late Friday, brokers estimated that about 1,000 tickets were still floating around, enough to drive down the prices.

“People thought they were going to get gigantic money all week, and it didn’t happen,” said Paul Brown of AAA Tickets. “It’s a really funny market.”
