John “Johnny” E. Kennedy, 78, of Chicago, passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, beloved husband of Maxine Kennedy, nee Chears; loving father of Linda Sanders, Lawrence, Lauren (Darryl) Hamer, Joan Huff and Braunda (Michael) Mays; dear brother of Anita Plunkett; grandfather of 11; great-grandfather of 10; preceded in death by his parents, sister, grandmother and son, Edward Donald Kennedy; survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. U.S. Army Veteran of Korea. He retired from Illinois State Psychiatric Institute with 35 years of service. Visitation, Sunday 4 to 9 p.m. at Gatling’s Chapel, 10133 S. Halsted Street, Chicago.
