Peter J. Stratta, age 80, longtime Olympia Fields and Roseland resident, passed away peacefully, on Friday, Jan. 19. Born and raised in Chicago Heights, where he lived to the age of six, before returning with his parents, to their native Italy. He fought with the Partisans during WWII, before returning to the US in 1946. Mr. Stratta, along with his brother John, co-founded and owned the Harbor Tool Manufacturing Inc. Mr. Stratta was President of the Piemontese Nel Mondo-Italian Cultural Society; and loved the opera. On May 28, 1950, he married Lillian, nee Peretto, his wife of 46 years, until her passing in 1996. Father of Judy (Conrad) Garvey of Pewaukee, WI, Robert (Kathy) Stratta of Winston-Salem, NC, Terry Stratta of Winston-Salem, NC, and Nancy (John) Bernstein of Greenwood Village, CO; grandfather of Melissa, Christopher, Adam and Sarah Garvey, Michael, Erin, David, Peter and Bobby Stratta, Max and Madeleine Bernstein.; brother of Lillia (Joseph) Boggio, and John (Beverly) Stratta. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St., (US Rt. 30, 3 blks E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights, on Tuesday, from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, 9:15 a.m., to Infant Jesus of Prague Church, Flossmoor, Mass 10 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre. 708-481-9230
