I have read other letters that complain about the increase on smoking bans. Many smokers feel unfairly targeted, and some letters even suggest that we should also be targeting drinkers and the obese in America, if we’re going to ban smoking in areas where both trans fats and alcohol is permitted. I can’t gain weight from seeing someone else eat french fries, and I can’t get drunk from seeing someone else drink a beer. Secondhand fat and secondhand liquor aren’t realistic health concerns.
