To those who say that the name change from Marshall Field’s to Macy’s is not important, given all the problems we face in the world, I say, they’re absolutely correct. It is certainly not as important as the war in Iraq. However, both are indicative of the same mentality. In both cases, an elitist cabal, using faulty intelligence, made a disastrous decision. And in both cases, the cabal insists on staying the course.

At least the Macy’s conflict cost no lives, but it may cost some livelihoods.
