Lester Doogan, age 83, retired officer of International Union of Operation Engineers Local 150, died quietly at his home in the SW suburbs of Chicago, Mr. Doogan was re-elected seven times until his retirement in 1986, making him the local’s longest serving officer. Mr. Doogan was the loving husband of the late Ruth nee Schuldt; loving father of Ruth (Dennis) Trawinski, Kenneth (Cynthia, Kevin (Candice), Linda, James (Kimberly) and Peggy (Mike) Ralphson; dearest grandfather of 15; great-grandfather of four; fond brother of William, Edith “Babe” Coan, Emma LeGrand and the late Blanche, Arthur, John, Raymond, Robert, Melvin, Lloyd “Bud”, Elizabeth and George. Funeral Services Thursday 10 a.m. at the Hickey Memorial Chapel, 4201 W. 147th Midlothian. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 2 to 9 p.m. 708-385-4478.
