David E. Flanigan, 70, of Downers Grove, died Jan. 18, 2007. He was born March 21, 1935, in Crawfordsville, IN. Survivers include his wife Elinor, nee Dunn; son Robert (Mona), daughters Elizabeth (Ken) Shimashita and Margaret (Gary) Marshinski; grandchildren Erin, Ryan, Bailey, Chloe and Will; and brother William Flanigan. A memorial service will be held on Jan. 27, at the First Congregational Church, 1047 Curtiss St., Downers Grove, with visitation starting at 1 p.m., and service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be sent to the First Congregational Church Memorial Fund or the Foundation Fighting Blindness, www.FightBlindness.org.
