Irv Sinclair, (Irwin Shamitz), 71, died peacefully in his sleep unexpectedly on Jan. 22, 2007 while convalescing from Hip Replacement Surgery. Born in the Bronx, NY, he moved to Indianapolis, and was an active Zeta Beta Tau at Indiana University. An Army Veteran, he later made Chicago his home taking up long term residence in Chicago’s Historic Marina Towers. Irv retired in 2003 from his lifelong profession as an Executive Recruiter with First Personnel /First Associates of Chicago and moved into the Evanston home of his Stepson. A Nationally-Ranked Bridge Player, Master Philatelist, avid reader and Past Worshipful Master of Evans Lodge No. 524, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Irv will be missed by the countless people whose lives he touched in both his professional and social capacities. He leaves us with wonderful memories. The loving son of David and the late Ida Shamitz of Far Rockaway; loving brother of the late Sheldon Shamitz of Merrick; and loving husband of the late Carole Nicoletti of Chicago. Survived by his stepson John Chrusciel Jr (Erin) of Evanston; sister-in-law Robin Shamitz; nieces Loren and Kathy of Merrick; aunt Eva Weiss; and nephews David and Coleman of Indianapolis. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. on Jan. 25 at Elmwood Cemetery, 2905 Thatcher Road, River Grove. For information call 312-823-9650.
