Yes, Tyra Banks admits she’s gained some weight since her modeling days, but she is tired of the jokes made after photos of her wearing a one-piece swimsuit popped up on the Internet.
“It was really hurtful to me,” the talk-show host tells People magazine in its Feb. 5 issue. “I’m not the healthiest eater,” she says, adding she isn’t required to “live up to that model standard anymore.”
The photos, which show Banks on a beach in Australia, appeared on a celebrity gossip Web site this month with the headline “Tyra Banks is Fat.”
“I don’t want to sit in front of you and be … fake and say, ‘I love myself, I’m beautiful, it’s great,’ ” Banks told People. “I still feel hot, but every day is different. It’s when I put on the jeans that used to fit a year ago and don’t fit now and give me the muffin top, that’s when I say, ‘Damn!’ “
