X-rays on LeBron James’ sore right big toe were negative Thursday, and the Cavaliers are hoping their superstar forward doesn’t have to miss any games.
James injured his toe during the recent West Coast road trip and aggravated it during Wednesday night’s double-overtime loss to the 76ers. James scored a season-high 39 points–13 in the second OT–and played 53 minutes.
Coach Mike Brown expects James to be in the starting lineup Friday night in Philadelphia.
– The Sonics signed forward Andre Brown to a contract for the rest of the season. The DePaul and Leo High School product has been a spark off the bench, averaging 5.0 points and 2.9 rebounds in seven games.
– The Magic recalled forward James Augustine from the Anaheim Arsenal of the D-League. The rookie was drafted in the second round out of Illinois but hasn’t played a game for the Magic this season.
– Former player Robert Traylor pleaded guilty to preparing a false tax return after hiding assets for a convicted drug dealer.
