Marijane Carr, 78, of Evanston, IL, succumbed to cancer Sunday Oct. 22, 2006 at her home in Evanston. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 4 at 2 p.m. at the 1st Congregational Church of Evanston (at Hinman and Lake Streets) Survivors include her children, Paul, Elise and Peter Siegal; and grandchildren, Janine, Kurt, Hilary, Benjamin, Timothy, and Christopher Siegal and Robin and Jasper Yurgil. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fritz Siegal and two grandchildren, Peter Siegal and Allen Yurgil. Marijane was born in Oak Park, IL to Vivian and Lucille, nee Butcher, Carr. She attended the Julliard School for the Performing Arts and studied with Leonard Rose. Marijane was for 25 years cellist with the Lyric Opera Orchestra of Chicago and for many summers cellist with the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra. Marijane will be remembered fondly as a dear friend, cousin, aunt, great-aunt, and cello teacher to many.
