Jazz great Duke Ellington, civil rights leader Rosa Parks, and former Ebony and Jet publisher John Johnson of Chicago were some of the inspirational African-Americans who graced the cover of Ebony magazine.
In honor of February’s Black History Month, American Greetings debuts a collection of eight cards depicting classic Ebony covers with quotations and encouraging messages.
Q loved the card featuring Billie Holiday with the inside saying: “Sing your own song, tell your own story, speak your own truth.”
The cards cost $2.99 each at select Jewel, CVS, Dominick’s, Kmart and Wal-mart stores.
