This is in response to the story about the couple being outraged that they were removed from an airplane because their child would not remain seated for takeoff.

Children behaving badly, with their parents’ permission, have become commonplace.

During the summer months, my daily commute into the city via Metra often showcases the practices of parents who bring their children to town for a summer excursion.

In many cases, the parents relinquish any control over their children and allow them to sit anywhere, run around at will and disrupt the other passengers.

How many times have you experienced unruly children in restaurants while their parents are oblivious to their antics?

Parents no longer seem to teach their children that there is a difference between private and public behavior. Do the parents know the difference or do they simply not care?

Children are mirrors and they reflect the manners of their parents. These children will one day become parents too. And the cycle goes on and on.
