Be mine
Hallmark cards don’t express our true enthusiasm for Valentine’s Day. To avoid getting lost in the sea of saccharine this season, give a nod to a decidedly unromantic flick by way of “Debbie Does Dallas: the Musical,” a humorous adaptation of the adult film of the same title about a small-town girl who uses her “talents” to raise money for her big dreams. 8 p.m. Through March 18. $15-$20. Easy Street Players at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave. 312-902-1500.
You’re a real sport
The singles scene is ripe with unwritten rules and bewildering politics, so what’s left to do but play the game as best you can? South Loop pub Grace O’Malley’s is ready to assist with live rounds of “The Dating Game.” Sign up to participate, or just watch contestants work their magic. Prizes include $25 gift certificates and dinner and a movie for two. 7:30 p.m. No cover. 1416 S. Michigan Ave. 312-588-1800.
Piece of my heart
When you exchanged playful valentines back in first grade, everyone was single. Want to relive your innocent past? Snag a few complimentary cards at Piece’s Valentine’s Day Party for Singles and let that cutie across the room (and the other one at the bar) know you’re available. Also, get $3 select mixed drinks. DJ Joan Jett Black spins. 8 p.m. No cover. 1927 W. North Ave. 773-772-4422.

Chill out
We’d prefer to toast summer with a cool brew on a sunny terrace, but let’s face it: Winter is here to stay. Celebrate the season at Frost, a themed bash featuring fashion shows from Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Pratesi and others. Includes white-chocolate desserts such as cupcakes and a chocolate dipping fountain, plus cocktails and appetizers. 6 p.m. $90-$110. Tickets: ticketweb.com. The Peninsula Chicago, 108 E. Superior St. 312-642-5097.
Eye candy
You’ve been seeing red for days, thanks to the commercial rush of Valentine’s Day. Train your eyes on different colors at Art Against AIDS. Live and silent auctions feature more than 100 original works. Includes cocktails and appetizers. 6 p.m. $100-$125. Proceeds benefit Heartland Alliance HIV/Aids Programs. The James Chicago Hotel, 55 E. Ontario St. 312-660-1313.
FRI 2/16
Paint it pink
What better way to support the Y-ME 2007 Race to Empower than by doing what you do best? Sip, eat and flirt at the third annual Tickled Pink party. Local personalities pour the drinks, including former “Bachelorette” Jen Shefft, RedEye’s Kyra Kyles and a sampling of Cosmo’s 50 Hottest Bachelors. Includes an open bar, appetizers, the Hat Guys and DJ Rashad. 7 p.m. $75-$85. Tickets: blueplatechicago.com. Kaleidoscope, 800 W. Superior St. 312-421-6666.
