With the exception of the northern tier of states, the nation is experiencing above-normal temperatures today. Those readings are welcome, but it’s a different story in coastal California where high temperatures are occurring along with parched soil, strong winds and low humidity. Buffeted by Santa Ana winds, Los Angeles registered record-setting heat on Monday, with a peak reading of 93(degrees) at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank. More moderate temperatures are expected there today along with diminishing winds
