Bernice E. Matalis, nee Norkus, age 89, born Sept. 28, 1917 in Chicago and was raised in the Roseland area. Passed away at home on March 16, 2007. Bernice was a longtime resident of Downers Grove for over 45 years. She was the daughter of the late Agota and Ciprionus Norkus; beloved wife of the late Adolph; loving mother of John (Sandra), Tom (Phyllis) and Michael; cherished grandmother of Alexander and Andrew; fond aunt of many; dear sister of the late Joseph, late Stella, late Victor and late Walter. Visitation Tuesday, 3 to 9 p.m. at Hills Funeral Home, Ltd., 10201 S. Roberts Rd. (8000W.), Palos Hills. Funeral Wednesday, chapel service 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
