Spoiler alert, Part 2: Almost everybody died in the first movie, so how is this possible?
“They want to do it,” actor Mark Wahlberg told Dean Richards of WGN-TV. “Bill Monahan is going to write it and all that. They asked me and Marty [Scorsese] if we were interested, and of course we are.”
Wahlberg, who played a Massachusetts State Police investigator who doesn’t get killed in the film, hinted that another big-time actor with a history of working with Scorsese may join the project.
“There’s talk of [Robert] De Niro coming on board,” Wahlberg said. “It’s just a matter of doing it and making it better than the first. If it’s not better than the first, there is no sake of doing it in the first place.”
