Green tee
The only thing you need to know about golf: Swing to the beat of the DJ. OK, that’s not from Tiger Woods’ handbook, but the Putt-Putt Green Design Competition Course isn’t really about straight shooting. Play a round of mini-golf on courses made by local designers from recycled materials. Includes live music and DJs. Snacks available for purchase. 6 p.m. Through Tuesday. $5 playing fee benefits Experimental Station and Material Exchange. Experimental Station, 6100 S. Blackstone Ave. 773-332-9827.
Dance fever
You’re not always sure how to interpret dance performances–or if you should even try. The Joe Goode Performance Group is here to help. The San Francisco-based crew mixes spoken word and theater with music and dance to ease your interpretation anxieties. See the troupe’s new work “Stay Together” and a revival of “Deeply There (stories of a neighborhood),” which explores the AIDS crisis. 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday; additional (family) show 3 p.m. Saturday. $6-$26. Columbia College Dance Center, 1306 S. Michigan Ave. 312-344-8300.
Can you fang with this?
Of course, it’s not always necessary to understand the origins of art. Case in point: “Vampire Lesbians of Sodom.” We’re drooling to see this comic mini-epic that follows two rival immortals from biblical cities of antiquity through present-day Las Vegas. 7 p.m. $8-$10. Ludicrous Theatre Company at Subterranean, 2011 W. North Ave. 630-988-0768.
Read your veggies
You say Earth Day is every day. Your calendar begs to differ. Gear up for the greenest of holidays, April 22, by meeting author and horticulturalist Mary Soderstrom, who reads from her new book, “Green City: People, Nature, and Urban Places,” and signs copies. The tome takes a historical look at how people and nature interact in 11 cities worldwide. 7:30 p.m. Free. Quimby’s, 1854 W. North Ave. 773-342-0910.

Spring it on
Summer flings still seem a world away, so get busy in the meantime with a Shakin’ Up Spring Singles Party. The after-work mixer includes draft beer and wine, light appetizers and martini specials. How can you resist the temptation? 7 p.m. $25-$35. RSVP: chicagoshakers.com. The Ashland, 2824 N. Ashland Ave. 312-427-2120.
Hair-razor
Three words: head-shaving ceremony. Seriously, if Britney thinks she can pull it off, so can you. Check it out at the Second Annual St. Baldrick’s Fashion Show Benefit. Warm up with a runway show, live music, cocktails, a silent auction and a dinner buffet before really letting loose and saying goodbye to your locks. 6 p.m. $35-$50. Proceeds benefit Children’s Oncology Group. Galleria Marchetti, 825 W. Erie St. 219-484-6918.
