Joel Madden is breaking his silence about breaking up with Hilary Duff last year … just as his band Good Charlotte’s new album hits music stores.
“I kind of ignored [the publicity] and tried to just continue to live my life,” Madden told People magazine. “People can say or think whatever they want. … I’m always the kind of person that does the right thing and keeps my side of the street clean.”
