A Streamwood man on parole for armed robbery was charged with abducting a woman at gunpoint and sexually assaulting her last month and attempting an abduction this week, authorities said Wednesday.
In April, Jeryme Morgan, 21, of the 200 block of Butternut Lane forced a woman into a Lincoln Navigator in the parking lot of Park Place Apartments in Hoffman Estates, authorities said. He struck her on the head with a gun, ripped off her clothes and assaulted her, said Andy Conklin, a Cook County state’s attorney spokesman.
Morgan was charged with aggravated battery, unlawful restraint, aggravated criminal sexual assault and armed robbery in the April 21 attack.
Morgan also faces charges of unlawful restraint, aggravated assault and battery for a Monday incident at a condominium complex in the 600 block of Perry Avenue in Elk Grove Village, Sgt. Dave Naumann said.
Morgan was ordered held in lieu of $1.5 million bail, authorities said.
In Hoffman Estates, Conklin said Morgan drove to a bank after the attack and forced the woman to withdraw $200 from an automated teller machine.
He bit her on her neck and tossed her out of the vehicle, and she ran to a nearby business, Conklin said.
The woman was treated for a head wound, Conklin said.
In Elk Grove Village, Morgan pointed a gun at a woman in a garage at about 11:15 p.m. Monday, authorities said.
“A struggle occurred between the victim and the offender,” Naumann said.
The woman fell as Morgan tried to get her into his SUV and a neighbor saw the attack. Morgan fled, Naumann said.
A short time later, Morgan was ticketed by Mt. Prospect police for having tinted windows. Officer Bill Roscop said he learned Morgan was wanted in Elk Grove Village.
Morgan pleaded guilty to armed robbery in 2004 for stealing a man’s wallet in Chicago and was sentenced to 6 years in prison, according to court records.
He was paroled in April 2006. Morgan is scheduled to appear May 25 in the Rolling Meadows Courthouse.
